Posted by on March 1st 2010

Practical Action is the name of the charity formerly known as the Intermediate Technology Design Group, which was set up by Fritz Schumacher, the economist and author of Small is Beautiful, A Guide for the Perplexed, Good Work and other books.

Practical Action promotes a whole range of activities in the fields of education, design and technology, renewable energy and climate change.  Providing wind and hydro-electric power and sanitation to remote communities are just examples of Practical Action’s work.
